This project involves 11 interviews between one interviewer and one respondent. All accents are Australian except for one or two UK accents (but these are not thick accents). In 2 interviews there is a lot of background noise as the interviews took place in a café and in some of the other interviews there are a few minor distracting noises. The noise cancellation feature of the recorder was enabled to eliminate some of this noise. Transcription needs to be fairly accurate with a target of 90% accuracy. The project rate has been calculated as: 5hrs of audio taking 15 hrs to transcribe at $6 per hour which equals $90. The additional allowance of 3 hours or $18 is given as the interviews with background noise or different accents may take slightly longer. Any additional time should be used for double-checking unclear sections of audio.
