We have a hosted 2012 server and are trying to setup remote app. Most of it has been done, but its giving an error on a self assigned certificate. The job is resolve any configuration issues to get remoteapp working externally.

Hi you need to add CA cert to trusted CA on all client machines from which remote app will be used. instead of you could use not self-signed certificate. for exampe from Comodo, StarSSL etc... so on client devices no actions will be needed.
