Blog ping server research

I am looking for help with Ping Server research. You will have to do some research and possibly write code for this project. It requires knowledge of blogging software, blog pings, and ping servers. I cannot fit the entire bid request here, so please download the attached document to read the entire request. **Background** I would like to be informed when blogs change. I am hoping to do this on a large scale, which requires the use of a ping server feed rather then harvesting individual blogs’ RSS feeds. I have tested two services so far but neither provides a perfect solution. I wonder if there are alternatives that provide the best of both worlds? - a feed that does not contain a huge amount of non-blog content. - a feed that points to individual blog entries, as opposed to the blog’s main URL I would like someone to research more ping server feeds and investigate these problems. It may take a few days of your time to work through the various ping servers available and the evaluate them. For each ping server I would like you to summarize the following: * Does the feed contain entries for all the popular blog systems (blogspot, MySpace, LiveJournal, Windows Live Spaces, etc.)? * Does the feed provide access to individual blog entries, or only access to the front page of the blog? * How noisy is the feed Does it contain lots of non-blog content? * Are their limitations on how the feed can be used? **Bidding** When you submit your bid, please estimate how many ping servers you intend to research in the time provided. Also, please allocate some time for me to ask follow-up questions about the information you send (e.g., in case something is not clear). ## Deliverables Please answer the above questions for each ping server you study. If you are able to obtain a sample of the ping feed, please provide it (the feeds can be quite the voluminous, so five minutes is certainly sufficient). If you had to write code to receive or process the feed, please include that code. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Either Windows or Linux is fine. Your code should not depend on 3rd party libraries that are not freely available.
