I am a native speaker of English, born and brought up in Gloucester, UK. As you will see from my profile, I am a retired, tenured adjunct professor with a lot of time on his hands. I got a diploma in Portuguese from the Institute of Linguists in London in 1979. I also got the RSA Teacher of English as a Foreign Language certificate in 1979, and spent the 1980s teaching English at the British Council in Lisbon, where I was also an examiner for the Cambridge Examinations Board. Between 2009 and 2016, I taught English, among other subjects, to undergraduates at the University of the Algarve.
I have publications in Portuguese and English.
